Mary Peloche

Mary holds a PhD in Law & Political Science from the University of Barcelona’s Faculty of Law. Her research focused on the International Refugee Protection Regime. She also holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, both from Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico).

She works as an assistant professor at the Department of Political Science & International Relations at Tecnológico de Monterrey’s School of Social Sciences and Government.

Former visiting research fellow at Arizona State University’s College of Law in Washington DC (U.S.), and Sapienza Università di Roma, in Rome (Italy). Member of the American Political Science Association, the Mexican International Studies Association, the Network of Researchers on North America (REDAN), and the Permanent Seminar on Canadian Studies (CISAN-UNAM). She served as a Faculty Advisor for the Harvard World Model United Nations editions in 2012 (Vancouver), 2015 (Seoul), 2016 (Rome), 2017 (Montreal), 2018 (Panama City), and 2019 (Madrid).

She has published four book chapters and has participated as a speaker in national and international conferences.

Her research areas are U.S. and Canadian politics, U.S. national security and migration policy, and the International Refugee Protection Regime.

As a research fellow in the RAUN 2022-2023 program, she and her team conducted research for UNITAR on “Triple Nexus versus Nexus-Sensitivity: Testing the Triple Nexus in Different Scenarios”.
